President's Message for July

Wow! If you're reading this, you'll know we're updating the website. Finally! And it's only one of the things that's on the move in Carson Rotary.

Many of our club members have taken time to express their hopes and concerns about our club. While all members are proud of what our club has done, two common threads run through their comments: members would like to have fun while doing more hands-on projects together ("like we used to...") AND members are concerned about growing our club.

Funny how these go hand-in-hand. Active clubs attract new members--and new members want to be active. So this year, we're going to Share Our Wealth of energy and fellowship while we serve our community and grow our club. And here's how we'll do it:

We'll be adding 3 more projects to the Christmas Shopping Spree and Rotary-at-Work Day.

We'll collect people into a Rotary Community Service Corp: people who'll enjoy helping us with these projects, but aren't in a position to join our club. Yet.

We'll set the stage and start a new Rotaract New Generations club in town, for young professionals age 18-30 who want to network, learn leadership and do community service.

We'll become a 100% Paul Harris Fellow club, united in our support of Polio Plus and Rotary.

All this is going to raise the excitement level of our club pretty high. Excitement that'll really rock a visitor to our club.

So let's start asking those people we know to come visit our Rotary club. Let's Share Our Wealth of fellowship and service this year and build our club while we build our community.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

   Steve
