The General Manager of KNVC, 95.1 FM Radio, Steve Funk, was the featured speaker at the weekly Carson City Rotary meeting. He explained that the station's operations began in 2017. A few dedicated volunteers got it up and running. Since then the station has grown in number of listeners and on-air personalities. The station is on the air twenty four hours per day, and sixteen hours of daily entertainment are created by local volunteers. The programs include talk shows, music shows and news programs. The music varies from Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Celtic, Retro, and Psychedelic genres depending on which local DJ is hosting. Sierra Ally has recently partnered with KNVC to broadcast local news stories. The KNVC signal reaches Pleasant Valley, Washoe Valley, Eagle Valley, Carson Valley and Dayton Valley. The shows can also be heard around the world, over the internet, at www.knvc.org . It is easy to remember the station's call letters. The radio station broadcasts from Nevada's Capital,...hence KNVC !
